Ranger's favourite walk - The Shepherd's Cairn

Join a Ranger on one of their favourite walks in Northumberland National Park.  You will begin the walk by following ‘Salter’s Road’, named after 18th century traders who smuggled salt by packhorse from salt pans on the North Northumberland coast to Scotland.  You will stop at the Shepherd’s Cairn – a memorial to two shepherds who lost their lives in the winter of 1962.
