Romans believed that the rose symbolised the eternal spring to which one went after they had passed into the after life. To celebrate fallen commrades during the month of May the soldiers would decorate their standards with garlands of Roses in a festival called Rosalia. Today we celebrate this festival too by decorating our museum with hundreds of roses. We also invite you to colouring a rose and leave the name of someone whom you would like to commerate on our rememberance tree. See the Roman Army Museum as you have never seen it before.
