Newcastle Castle

The Castle Keep is one of the finest Norman stone castle keeps or dungeons surviving in Britain today. It is a scheduled ancient monument and Grade 1 listed building.

Segedunum Roman Fort and Museum

Located at the eastern end of Hadrian’s Wall - Wallsend, in North Tyneside - the Roman fort at Segedunum is the most completely excavated fort on Hadrian’s Wall.

Arbeia, South Shields’ Roman Fort

Arbeia, South Shields' Roman Fort has stunning full-scale reconstructions of original buildings including the commander’s house, a barrack block and a West Gate providing a unique and inspiring insight into Roman military life.
