Travelling on Hadrian’s Wall: Coronavirus/COVID-19 Statement

From 18 September, as a result of the restrictions imposed in Northumberland. Newcastle, Gateshead, Tyneside and Durham, public transport in this area should only be used for essential travel, to work, to school or for an essential appointment (eg medical).

Public transport services to access the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site are continuing to operate. Please be aware that there is a reduced number of trains operating.  For your safety and that of people around you, please follow current government advice for travel on public transport.  Face masks must be worn (exceptions for children and those adults with disabilities and conditions which prevent them from doing so).

Announcement from Go North East - AD 122 Bus Service

We can now confirm that the AD122 Hadrian's Wall Bus will be starting to run a daily timetable from Saturday the 4th of July between Hexham and Haltwistle for the summer of 2020. Please be aware that for public safety the AD122 will be operating with social distancing restrictions which will limit the passenger capacity on the buses and that use of public transport at this time remians primarily for essential travel only.
