Prudhoe Castle has many a story to tell to the intrepid visitor. Have a picnic and take in the surroundings, browse in the shop or explore the keep, great hall and towered walls enclosing a fine Georgian mansion, or take a walk around the moat and grounds.

The beautiful and now tranquil setting of Augustinian Lanercost Priory belies an often troubled history. Standing close to Hadrian's Wall, it suffered frequent attacks during the long Anglo-Scottish wars, once by Robert Bruce in person.

The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre is located near Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland National Park

This classic castle is perfect for family games and picnics and is a great starting point for some woodland walks.
