Greenhead

Start Exploring

Greenhead nestles in the north pennines and lies within the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall. Within 5 minutes of the village, Hadrian’s Wall marches through Walltown Craggs, a much loved beauty spot administered by Northumberland National Park and serviced by a small shop and tea room.

To the other side of the village stands the inspiring ruin of Thirwell Castle, a testimony to the Border Reiver heritage of the area. Visitors to Greehead are warmly welcomed to our Youth Hostel, Tea Rooms and hostelry. The village Millennium Green is delightfully situated by the Tipalt Burn in the heart of the village and is both a haven and a boon to the footsore traveller taking time to enjoy the pleasures of rest and tranquility.
