A tiny café with a big personality, Regular Jo’s is all about great coffee and good vibes. The space is small but super inviting, with lovely staff and a calm, relaxed feel. You’ll find a fab selection of drinks, cakes, and little extras (including pup-friendly treats). Definitely worth popping in – especially if your four-legged friend is in tow.

Northumberland Coffee

A sophisticated (but friendly) spot just off the Hadrian’s Wall Path and the Military Road (B6318) with indoor and outdoor seating . The cafe’s excellent coffee is roasted on site. Part of the Northumberland 250 family

ERRINGTON COFFEE HOUSE

Address: Errington Coffee House (north of Corbridge) NE45 5QB

Snuggled up just steps from the Hadrian’s Wall footpath, this charming spot offers open fires, home-baked pies and cakes and an ultra-welcoming atmosphere. The space was once the Errington Arms, and now it’s a must-visit rest stop for dogs and humans alike. Designated dog area.

Bardon Mill Tearooms and Stores

Address: Bardon Mill, Hexham NE47 7HX

A cosy, friendly village spot selling everything from groceries to gifts, along with a menu of toasties, cakes, and quality tea and coffee. The tea room welcomes dogs to join their owners for a rest. For warmer days, there’s outdoor seating plus picnic benches on the village green just in front of the tea room.

The Garden Coffee House

Address: 20 Hallgate, Hexham NE46 1XD

This café right next to Hexham’s medieval Old Gaol welcomes dogs inside and out. This funky spot boasts a spacious walled garden (as you might expect from the name) that’s just perfect for dogs. The Sele park is a couple of minutes walk away for a good run round off the leash.

Simonburn Tea Rooms

Address: Simonburn, Hexham NE48 3AW

A genuine hidden gem tucked away in one of Northumberland’s prettiest villages, halfway between Hexham and Bellingham. This 28-seat tearoom comes with a beautiful garden, a gift shop, and the kind of warm welcome that makes you want to stay for hours. Dogs are very much welcome and there’s a lovely outdoor garden to sit in when the weather plays ball.

Sewingshields Shed

The newest self-service kiosk to pop up near the Hadrian’s Wall Path. Stop off to enjoy well-deserved refreshments including hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream. A lovely way to support our local farmers!

HOUSESTEADS VISITOR CENTRE

Address: Visitor Centre, Hexham NE47 6NN

More than just a place to grab a bite, Housesteads offers history, views, and a proper welcome for pups. Grab refreshments and then head off to explore one of the most iconic sites on Hadrian’s Wall.
(Please note that the centre is temporarily closed but expected to reopen in July 2026)

A cosy gem in the village of Greenhead, near Brampton, this tea room is not just dog friendly – it’s dog loving! Dogs are welcome inside and out, with picnic benches available on warmer days. A treat for you and your canine companion.

HARBOURSIDE CAFÉ

Address: The Harbourside Café, S Quay, Maryport CA15 8AB

This seaside café is a real gem, with gorgeous views over the marina and a lovely calm atmosphere. It’s right next to the Lake District Coast Aquarium and it’s a great stop before or after a walk along the water. The scones and cream are a must and there’s always something homemade on offer. Dogs are welcome inside or out; a really peaceful place to just slow down and enjoy the view.
